In our last discussion I pointed out the differences in staffing needs pursuant to the strategic positioning and image of eyecare practices. Hopefully it caused you to reflect on your positioning and the type of care orientation and practice you want to project to the public. Indeed, after reading the two hypothetical modes, some might prematurely conclude, “why choose to be care-based when it seems to yield more work for the doctor and less profitability than a retail-based approach?” That is a reasonable assertion…until you consider other factors.
