Our Story

The K2 Way & The Tiger Institute for Cooperative Learning (“Tiger”) began in 2010 as a way for Dr. Jeff and Susan Kegarise to provide education and professional development opportunities to staff members of their busy, growing optometry practices. Realizing that they and their trainers had much more to offer, “Tiger” began offering courses after hours inviting staff members from area practices to attend. With the popularity and success of these courses, they realized a great gap existed between what the doctor wanted the staff to know vs what doctors and managers had time to teach.

Tiger expanded to provide insights and educational opportunities to all healthcare professionals, doctors, residents, students, administrators, managers and staff. The goals were to teach them how to improve not only clinical skills, but excellence in operations, finance, human resource management, culture building, marketing, and development, thus enabling people to build their own successful thriving careers and practices. The Tiger Institute for Cooperative Learning has grown into the educational arm of K2 Solutions; now offering online training for Optometric Assistants/Technicians and Front Office staff, CE courses in person, virtually, and at local, regional, national and international conferences. While presentations to large audiences expand knowledge and awareness, the tiger team is very hands on and is usually found in an office providing on-site training and development for Ophthalmology, Optometry, and Specialty Medicine practices.
