Welcome to Eye-Courses.com Motility Made Easy. This curriculum is designed to introduce the student to the basics of identifying and measuring eye muscle movements in a clinical setting. For additional information on eye muscles please see our other courses on eye anatomy.

At the conclusion of the course the student will be able to:

  1. Name the six extraocular muscles and state their primary function
  2. Define phoria and tropia
  3. Define the terms of eye movement known as eso, exo, hyper and hypo
  4. List three methods for measuring motility
  5. Identify gross deviations using the Hirschberg method
  6. Describe the cover test methods

This course should take approximately 1 hour to complete.

This course has been approved by the AOA Commission on Paraoptometric Certification (CPC) for continuing education credit for use toward paraoptometric certification renewal.
