Welcome to Dry Eye Basics. This course is intended to give the student a basic overview of tear anatomy, understand the current definition of dry eye disease and to understand basic testing methods to detect dry eye.  Audience: Basic to Intermediate Level

At the end of the exam the student will be able to:

  • Identify the layers and function of the tear film
  • Define Dry Eye Disease based on most recent research
  • Perform clinical testing for dry eye patients
  • Understand the difference between subjective and objective testing methods

 

This course should take approximately 1 hour to complete.

This course has been approved by the AOA Commission on Paraoptometric Certification (CPC) for continuing education credit for use toward paraoptometric certification renewal.
